Sharing knowledge on farming, water, and drought in Delta Junction

The University of Alaska-Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, National Drought Mitigation Center, and USDA Northwest Climate Hub are hosting two workshops in Alaska on 14 & 16 November 2022. The goals of these workshops are to enhance understanding of water and agriculture through knowledge sharing and consider ways to reduce impacts during weather extremes such as drought. These workshops will focus on precipitation and temperature as it related to agriculture; discuss drought indicators and monitoring; give attendees an opportunity to engage in a drought scenarios exercise; and focus on peer-to-peer learning related to water mitigation strategies to contend with dry and variable conditions for producers and gardeners.
