Karl Gustafson is a Conservation Adaptation Fellow with the USDA Southeast Climate Hub and the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). In this role, Karl works with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) to identify regional conservation practices that help working land managers improve soil health and build resilience to disturbance, increase carbon sequestration and storage, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Karl has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a minor in History from Wake Forest University and a master’s degree in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability from the University of Helsinki.
