Nora Alvarez-Berríos is a Climate Fellow with the Caribbean Climate Hub. Nora joined the Caribbean Climate Hub team in June 2016 and is investigating agricultural and forestry land areas vulnerable to climatic changes and adaptability scenarios for climate change mitigation in the Caribbean. Nora is also developing online GIS tools to assist farmers develop agricultural management plans.
Nora is an environmental scientist with research interests in human and environment interactions in tropical forests, land use and land cover changes, GIS and remote sensing. Nora recently presented her research on drought vulnerability in tropical agricultural systems at the 2017 Ecological Society of America annual meeting.
Nora holds a Ph.D in environmental sciences from the University of Puerto Rico.
