Viviana is a dedicated plant physiologist who completed her doctoral degree in Horticulture and Agronomy from the University of California Davis and her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences with a minor in Agricultural and Natural Resources Law at the University of Florida. Her Post-Doctoral work focused on climate adaptation of Theobroma Cacao at Biodiversity International. Throughout her career Viviana has served as a consultant and/or founder of several agriculture related projects for numerous distinguished organizations such as World Coffee Research, TechnoServe, Seed Relief Puerto Rico and Hispanic Federation, among others. Viviana has been an ORISE Fellow and now has the role of regional coordinator for the Caribbean Climate Hub. During her appointment she has led and coordinated the Climate-Smart Caribbean, Enabling Climate Smart Decisions NIFA funded project that aims to increase the knowledge and literacy of climate change as well as adaptation and mitigation practices for agriculture and forestry in the U.S. Caribbean.
