Barbara Bennett joined the USDA Climate Hub network in July 2023 to lead the International Climate Hub, which was inaugurated in May. Barbara brings with her a deep knowledge of international policy, operations, and programs, having served as Chief of Staff of the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) for four years. Her previous FAS positions include Deputy Director of the Western Hemisphere Division, Country and Regional Affairs Senior Policy Advisor, Europe Team Lead, and Mexico Desk Officer. Prior to joining FAS, Barbara was Editor in Chief and Vice President for Broker Power’s International Trade Today publications. She also worked for the Department of Commerce and as an independent business consultant, and she holds a master’s degree in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University. Barbara has lived in France, Germany, and Brazil, and grew up in rural Pennsylvania, which have all contributed unique aspects to her interests in agriculture, international affairs, and climate change.
