Advancing Climate Resilience with Women Ranchers in Northeast Oregon

Funded by an Oregon Conservation Innovation Grant from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and in partnership with the USDA Northwest Climate Hub, this project aims to bring American Farmland Trust’s (AFT) innovative Women for the Land Learning Circle programming to women ranchers and ranchland owners in Northeast Oregon (particularly Union, Baker, and Wallowa Counties) to advance soil health and rancher resilience. Empowering women in ranching with useful tools and tactics, including USDA NRCS resources related to soil quality and climate resilience, can make ranches less vulnerable and provide models for adoption of agricultural conservation practices that could be utilized by women in agriculture and ranching across the state.
