Claire Phillips

Claire Phillips is Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Co-lead of the Northwest Climate Hub. She is also a Research Soil Scientist with the USDA-ARS Northwest Sustainable Agroecosystems Research Unit in Pullman, Washington. Her research and outreach focus on information to reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions and improve resilience through regenerative practices. She has a PhD from Oregon State University and has worked with ARS since 2015, first as a post-doc and later as a research scientist. Her first partnership with the Northwest Climate Hub in 2017 was to co-develop the Pacific Northwest Biochar Atlas, a decision-support tool for biochar use.
