Description

The Sheep Production and Marketing Grants Program (SPMG) provides funds on a competitive basis to national organizations whose mission is to strengthen and enhance the production and marketing of sheep and sheep products in the United States including the improvement of infrastructure business, resource development, and the development of innovative approaches to solve long-term needs. Eligibility

An eligible entity means any entity that promotes the betterment of the U.S. sheep industries including LLC's, partnerships, corporations, cooperative organizations, associations, a federally recognized Indian Tribes and public or quasi-public agencies. The entity may be operated as a for-profit or a not-for-profit entity.  Applicant must have credentials demonstrating expertise in project content.  Applications submitted by an individual are not allowed.

Climate Change Component

Natural resources including rangelands are vulnerable to climate change. The Sheep Production and Marketing Grant Program aims to improve production of sheep and sheep products and funding can be used to improve business infrastructure as well as develop resources and innovative approaches to solves issues related to sheep production and marketing that will be affected by a changing climate.
