Description

The purpose of this program is to establish an Extension presence and support Extension outreach on Federally Recognized Indian Reservations and Tribal jurisdictions of Federally-Recognized Tribes. This program seeks to continue the Land Grants mission of inclusion - providing education and research-based knowledge to those who might not otherwise receive it.

Climate Change Component

Extension professionals focus on natural resource conservation, restoration and pressing issues facing communities. All of these will be affected by climate change thus establishing an Extension present and supporting outreach by Extension to Tribal communities will indirectly support these communities in adapting to climate change.
