Kate has worked in diversified agriculture for over a decade as both a farmer and service provider.
She earned her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MBA from the University of Southern Maine, where she focused on sustainability in small food businesses. As a farmer Kate has explored alternative methods of production such as aquaponics and agroforestry. In her previous work, Kate cultivated and supported a network of farmers and agricultural advisors as they built ecological and economic resilience through increased efficiency, as well as new approaches to production, markets, and more. Kate’s current projects are focused on supporting producer productivity, resilience, risk reduction, and economically beneficial activities on farms and forests in the Northeast region.
