As tides rise and storms intensify, humans adapt to the changing environment. Understanding local impacts to the coast increases resiliency. The Coastal Observer App encourages citizens to monitor weather and water. The data will help researchers build a pathway for a sustainable future. Citizen scientists may choose how to participate:
- share how the current setting makes you feel through environmental observation
- observe current weather to document its impacts
- document where the water levels are and how this might impact infrastructure, life, or property
- collect water quality data to see how our environment is impacted by human practices.
